Hello, I’m Tyrone Ward. Welcome to my portfolio.

I am deeply invested in digital art, especially 3D modelling, design and animation. My path in digital arts has been both a professional pursuit and a personal journey, filled with discoveries and new techniques.

Embracing Digital Art

My exploration into digital art began in 2018 when I first discovered and embraced Blender for 3D modelling and animation. This brought back my childhood ambition to create cartoons, an ambition I thought was out of reach due to my dyspraxia, which made drawing and writing by hand challenging. Working in 3D felt right; it allowed me to express myself in ways that felt blocked by traditional methods. This moment of clarity drove me to dive deep into 3D art. The medium’s detailed and immersive nature let me tell stories, evoke emotions, and share ideas in a way I hadn’t been able to before.

Crafting My Path

My skill set has grown to include various software and tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro, and Substance Painter. My exploration into game design, working with both Unreal Engine and Godot, has been rewarding. I’ve had the chance to turn game concepts into reality twice.

Recently, I’ve started applying my skills to create CG visuals and effects for live-action films. While I’m new to this, my foundational skills have already allowed me to make meaningful contributions to certain projects. The idea of combining 3D art with live action to tell richer stories excites me greatly.

Overcoming Adversity

Dealing with Autism, Tourette’s Syndrome, and Dyspraxia has presented its challenges. These experiences have fostered a resilience and empathy in me, shaping a unique approch to creativity and problem-solving. Embracing 3D art has been more than a mere choice; it’s been an essential outlet for self-expression and a way to engage with my passions.

Envisioning the Future

I’m driven to expand my understanding of of digital art, focusing on 3D modelling, design and animation. I’m actively building a portfolio to highlight not just my technical skills but my ability to create compelling narratives through digital art. The Digital Media industry is ever-changing, especially in recent years, and I’m keen to make my mark.
